That's Caucasian sheepdog. After Russia conqured the Caucasus, centuries ago, the dogs would eventually find their way to eastern and central Europe.
During Cold War years they were used to guard the border between east and west Germany. As they're smart, tough and have the balls made of titanium.
Which should be expected of a breed that sexually harasses wolves for a living

I have heard Caucasian Owtcharkas are very tough customers indeed--quite ferocious. One woman I knew had one and she didn't find it any problem, but then she was a professional trainer and used to some pretty formidable animals. She also owned a leopard and a tiger. That tiger was the one used in the 1993 remake of the "Jungle Book."
