Speaking of yoox, I found this to be really surprising:

What did you think of it? I liked it, and it fits me perfectly.

It's also comprised of strongly-approved SF brands. That, combined with it's inoffensiveness, screamed "net dress." There was no personal touch at all.

Granted, I was wearing my terrible work "uniform" (khaki chinos and ill-fitting blue shirt) so he was a step above me.

They had 1 MMM heavy cable knit the other day. Nordstroms has MMM anyway (they had a 100% cash knit iirc) They do have a surprising amount of Prada though

That yoox comment is very serious. Either Yoox is trafficking in counterfeit goods or he is treading very close to defamation.

That may help but anything can be faked.

I figure if the garment is high quality, is not the type of garment that is usually faked (like logo purses and t-shirts) and looks consistent with the other designer's work, then it is probably authentic.

I don't know who would bother to make a high quality fake at great cost (using superior leather, hand stitching, etc.). You just need to make it appear superficially genuine until the sale is made. It doesn't matter if the garment stays intact for more than a few months. You would know fairly quickly if you got ripped off.

There are people here with more expertise in these matters than me, so correct me if I am wrong.

Am I insane or is the guy by the stairs at :33 wearing Number (N)ine stuff from this past season?

There's some faked stuff from Korea that probably is higher quality than the original garments. It's rare but it happens.

+1 I was starting to think I was the only one who thought so. Its looked mediocre in every pic I've seen, especially for how much it costs.

I tried it on several times at Roden Gray, coveting it, and I can assure you, it is ******* awesome. I ultimately could never make room for it in the budget and I still cry myself to sleep thinking about it. It's the fit that does it, the cut was just fantastic. I wore it slim (room for a T and a scarf but nothing thick).

Why is it that nothing under $600 ever has a half-decent gradient? I'm thinking about Prada shoes from a few seasons ago and Rick's white-to-black jacket. Dior Homme did dip-dyed[?] jeans very recently, maybe it's even the current collection but I'm too lazy to check LVR; I saw a beautiful DH striped button-up that faded slowly to white as it neared the bottom. Louis Vuitton also did a couple of really nice dÃ

suits/overcoats in fw07. And Dolce made a gorgeous gradient tuxedo jacket last season -- but then they ruined it by covering it with embroidery that looks stolen from an unnecessarily ornate Japanese watercolor. But all the imitations, even from mid-level brands, are always so blotchy and uneven, or else the colors transition way too quickly, like those Evisus.

About a year ago or so i remember how the store suddenly started selling a shipment of Kato which Neil of Kato said looked like a shipment they've had stolen a bit before.
Yoox ignored them and it never really got any further.
Just to blow to the fire.
