I think that his mainline is actually quite nice. He is helping to keep american fashion relevant. If he ever decided to show in Paris or Milan, NYFW would loose a lot of cred. Its just not the "SF aethsthetic". Granted, he often admits to taking influence from other designers past collections (but who doesnt? he just admits it).

Also, i live not too far from Bleeker st where he has his "mini mall" and i think that the girls wearing his clothes often look quite nice and very cute. His Marc by Marc line, while nowhere near the relevance / quality of his mainline, offers nice piecse at a good price point. It also serves as a nice "breeding ground" for the current crop of designers - Richard Chai (who basically launced mar by marc before revamping Tse), Robert Geller and Isa Saalabi (nom de guerre) all worked for Marc by Marc before starting their own labels

true, just kinda seems like a "name" that enty-level fashionista bitches who don't know anything about fashion latch onto, then parade around, like "hey! i'm a stupid ho, but telling people i love marc jacobs shows im really into fashion!" I guess that's not really marc's fault, but still..... **** those ho's.
