Anyone have experience selling a watch on Chrono24? Commission of 6.5% seems reasonable compared especially to ebay. I've bought via the platform before and think the escrow process will give piece of mind vs listing on a forum like Reddit or Watchuseek. How soon are you expected to ship once a buyer confirms? I took photos of 2 watches today and will be going out of town for a week, back home for one night, them out of town for another week. Wondering whether I should just wait until travel is complete before listing. Any other thoughts or things I should know as a seller?
I have. My experience: It was a straightforward process and I’d do it again. I listed the watch (included lots of photos using my DSLR) and a few days later someone messaged me, asking to negotiate. All negotiations should go through their website. Went back and forth, agreed on a price, and sold.

A few things to know about: make sure you list reasonable (to you) shipping prices, especially if the buyer ends up being international. Shipping watches with boxes can be expensive. Get insurance, too. Fill out the customs paperwork properly. You won’t get paid till the watch clears customs and is delivered.

@DorianGreen posted this Lorier Zephyr recently. Not exactly rectangular, but close.

Oris also makes an Art Deco style that I seriously considered before copping out and buying a Cartier instead. There are other dial colors, and you can get these new for less than $2k online.

I'm liking that Lorier the more I see it. I would have picked up a Tank a long time ago if not for the fact that something about quartz watches just bugs me when I'm wearing them. It's nice to see some mechanical options without having to jump to the Louis Cartier price range.

Very nice on a leather strap, but also good looking on this bracelet, the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date.

Speaking of Oris... I was walking past a jeweler in our downtown one day last week and they had a sign out front advertising all Oris marked down >25%. I was tempted to go take a look and see what they had (I have always liked the Diver 65) but figured my wife might notice if I went out for coffee and a loaf of bread and came back with a new watch! 😅

How would she know? Were you not wearing long-sleeves?

Watch boxes these days have gotten obnoxiously large they're getting more difficult to sneak past the household customs officer.

FWIW, the Oris boxes I've seen honestly aren't too bad but a couple brands like Omega and Longines have waaaayyyyy too much packaging.

I posted recently about my interest in an inexpensive "field" or military style chronograph. That search led me to Newmark, an interesting British company, who today released three updated models, including a chronograph almost exactly what I was searching for. It comes with or without a date window. Price is £299 or about $381USD. I plan to order one, undecided on date vs no date, but leaning towards date. It's powered by a Seiko VK64 mecha quartz movement. The other two models they release today also include a nice classic skin diver design.

Had a stroll through a small town and saw these in a shops window. Old stock of Longines priced at about 600usd each. I kind of like the automatic one with the gray dial, and I would think my wife would love the one with the metal bracelet. Any thoughts on a fair price. These have never been worn. Thank you.

@NakedYoga - Those Newmark watches look pretty nice. I’m usually a no-date guy when given a choice but I think I like the version with the date a little better on the chronograph.

Dug this out of the drawer where it’s been sitting unworn for a couple of years and it’s still ticking right away. Probably the best <$25 watch on the market!

Even with a relatively inexpensive purchase, I give it at least a day or two to marinate before pulling the trigger. If I don't feel any different tomorrow I'll probably buy the chronograph. I think I like the date version too. At 38mm it should be a perfect size for me, and I like that it comes on the fabric strap.

I would choose this one, because it's aesthetically very attractive and it's mechanical.

Lovely bracelet furthermore.

Waiting for my new Kurono Anniversary Calender Azuki to be shipped.

Unfortunately I missed this gorgeous Bunkyo Tokyo. I wasn't even aware of the brand. Hoping to see something similar in the future. Every model is offered in very limited editions (this one was only 50 pieces) and will not be replicated.

@NakedYoga Yes, i reckon I've a sold some watches on chrono24. I've sold far more expensive watches on danish similar websites because they do not take any percentage commission, so my prices on chrono24 was always bit higher. But overall, I've had very good experiences with C24, so I can highly recommend them.
