I need a cheap, casual watch. Any recommendations on a men's watch with a ~30mm face? I'm not sure such a small one exists. The smallest I've seen are 40mm. Seems the watch face has only grown larger over time. (no pun intended)

The smallest watch you can find is 40mm? Seems a bit odd. Look at any Seiko. Good, affordable, quality watches. Most are probably 35-37mm ish. I suggest a Seiko 5. Oh, and yea.. what in the world do you want with a 30mm watch? Maybe look for a woman's watch. I dont think youre going to find something that small in a mens watch

I feel ya pardner. All the watches I see are humongous, and I have small bones. Anything over 35mm looks ridiculous on me. I long for the days of simple, thin, small strap watches. My dad has an Omega from about 1975 that he winds every day and it still runs. Thin, small, black leather band he's replaced about 50 times.

I may have to go vintage and look for those smaller old school watches my granddads wore in that elusive span of time between the pocket watch and the mega-face watch.
I consider 35 mm the equivalent of 40 (rounding up). Anything over 35 eats up my wrist as well.

I've my grandfather's vintage Patek Philippe Gubelin, and it's around 32 mm, I think.

Man, you guys must have tiny wrists! I've always thought that I had small wrists, and I usually wear a 38 mm which looks perfect. 30 mm will look like I'm wearing a woman's watch or something. You guys should work out more.

That's a great carving, btw. And it's amazing what daylight can do to your photographs, is it not?

Unfortunately, for those of us living in New England, sunshine is like Paris Hilton's **** -- everyone's seen 'em out peek in pictures and videos, but nobody quite knows what they look like in real life.

It came in good condition. All I did was put in a new crystal. I did that myself.

Discontinued, so second hand is your only option. Seiya has the SARB031 on sale at the moment and that's a similar watch (same movement), and very nice IMO:
