Hello everyone,

I couldn't find any up-to-date threads answering this specific question for my geographic area, so if I missed one: Sorry! And feel free to share the link with me.

Anyway, here is my issue:

I usually have all of my clothes made for me by a good tailor in Asia, mainly because most OTR doesn't fit me around the arpmit (armhole too low, shoulder seams top far apart, etc.), but because of Covid I won't be over there for work in the near future and and therefore chose to simply stick to OTR for now. That aside, I could use more cheaper clothes I won't mind getting dirty anyway.

I would normally have defaulted to the Banana Republic Luxury Touch polos, but those are discontinued in Europe. Something similar would be great.

The poloshirts I'm looking for to try for fit should fulfill the following requirements:

1. Available in Germany or France, preferably online.
2. No logos.
3. Cut suitably for being worn untucked. Should not be too boxy, but also not absurdly slim, and have the proper length.
4. 100% cotton. Jersey or Piqué, or whatever else, all OK, although dressier would be preferred.
5. Unicolour.
6. Good price-quality ratio and about 60 euros max, although cheaper would be preferred. This also includes slightly more expensive brands that go on sale for about this much from time to time (I know John Henric does, for example.)

Please list all of your recommendations.
Thank you!

Extra question:
Besides expensive brands I have, including Smedley and Borelli, the only ones I have seen so far and whose style I like are Boggi, John Henric, Profuomo and Massimo Dutti. However, I know nothing about their quality.

Is there a forum consensus on this? Or could you share some experiences if you have them? Thanks a lot!

I can say from personal experience that MD polos are decent enough for the price, can usually be had for cca $25 when on sale. Interesting colors as well. Mine are not cotton piqué, however, but a cotton-linen mix which I prefer during summer in any case.

Have you checked out Kent Wang? I heard that the construction is good and that when on sale can fall below $50, but I haven't tried them myself.

I'm pretty happy with Land's End supima cotton polos, with ribbed hems "banded bottoms" to be worn untucked. These are in solid colors and don't feature any sort of logo or branding. The supima cotton is nice. On sale they're $30-ish, sometimes less.

I can attest to the quality of the Kent Wang polos. What I like most about them is that the collar is made of two layers of fabric, unlike the more typical single layer. The collars retain their shape much better as a result. They do run small, so most people size up.

Proper Cloth has some great piqué polos MTM, and they ship everywhere--free if you buy a couple of shirts. (I live in Italy.) They have a good online measuring interface although I will say that I got my optimal measurements when I was in NYC and went to their studio.
