Let me ask you this - why does a baking Pie smell so heavenly, when a cake just kinda smells like you've "got something in the oven", huh? I'll tell you why - it's an early manifestation of the inherent culinary superiority of Pie sending out olfactory signals to alert the masses - Get Ready for Pie!

Nice try.

I've never seen an ice cream pie at a grocery store or ice cream parlor. It's always ice cream cake.

I'm not a fan of theirs either, I was merely making the point to Texasmade.

The best ice cream pie, like all pies, is the one you make at home yourself, anyway.

Banana Split Ice Cream Pie

20 chocolate wafer cookies, finely crushed
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 bananas, sliced
1 quart strawberry ice cream, softened
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup maraschino cherries (optional)

Directions

Mix cookie crumbs with melted butter. Press into a 9-inch pie plate.
Arrange bananas over bottom of crust. Spread ice cream in an even layer over bananas. Top with drained pineapple.
Place pie in freezer for 3 hours. Whip the cream and spread over top. Sprinkle with nuts. Garnish with cherries, if desired. Makes 8 servings.

why do bakers have to make cakes so visually appealing? why do they have to cover them in carved fondant or vats of icing? its because cake's penis is short, that's why.
