Now i trying to decide to play it safe ( for Fall...) and get the darker tortoise, or go with the lightertortoise with lighter blue lenses? (Perhaps would stand out more) + it was the one that McQeen had in his personal collection- that was auctioned. What do you think.

Notice the Belstaff jacket that was also auctioned.

If I saw a guy wearing those who wasn't Steve McQueen I'd say they are slightly okay or cool. You have to try on several pairs and styles as the size and shape of your head and jaw line play into what looks good on you. Just because McQueen looks decent in those doesn't mean you will. I'd try on several brands, styles and bring a friend who you think has decent taste to give you their opinion.

Trying to decide between the 649 and 714, I'm gunna go try them on tomorrow, but is it true that the 714's sit awkwardly on the face because of the extra weight over the nose from the foldable hinge?

I personally find that the 714 fits alot better than the 649. As 649 runs large and the smallest size is 54mm, however the 714 comes in a 52mm. Also really dig that it folds for some cool point.

Not to revitalize an old thread, but does anyone have experience with wearing these with Blue Lenses...how do the blue lenses hold up for sun glare etc...

I have a pair. Bought them off Ebay for about $250. I suspect they aren't the "Authentic" Mcqueen editions, but they are in fact real 714's with blue polarized lenses and the OEM dark brown polarized lenses as well. I wore the blue lenses for a while. The polarized blue is downright one of the coolest things to look through. Blocks sunlight really well and gives a cool tint to everything. I got a lot of compliments on the blue lenses, but after a while I feel it got to be "too much" so I had my local optician swap the lenses out to my other set for free. I think I prefer the dark brown, but maybe I'll go back in the future
