I think I bought mine before they had a "used wash", which is what they look like now after 5+ years of wear. as long as the regular version is the same reverse sateen I'd go with that
It is reverse sateen yes. Seems a bit odd there's a version that you can just make your own. I guess it saves time.

Im looking for a pair of pants that is like a New Yorker but in Navy blue colourway. Can anyone recommend me something similar from another brand please ?

I see Pegg and Son have an exclusive NY in Navy but it’s Herringbone material and I would really prefer rip stop.

So I just bought a Type 2 One Wash but the sleeves are covering my hands, it’s just too long. Sized up x 2, probably one too many tbh. Before I return: will it shrink significally with a hot wash and tumble dry? Or should I just stay clear of that?

Why would you sized up two times?

It will not shrink, buy your true size mate.
