haha. It was given to me from my grandpa who was probably the most influential person in my life who died when i was 15. It's a 1969 bulova accutron and apparently those things are impossible to fix/find parts for. I had it cleaned/reset a few years ago and it worked for awhile then stopped. I got a special repro battery for it last year and it worked for awhile and now stopped. I might try getting it cleaned/reset and get a new battery but i don't know what if that doesn't work. Maybe i can get a new operating system installed in it. I don't really care for watches at all and just wear it because the looks/sentimental value. I was more just ******* around because i could care less if it makes me a poseur.

Once again, I stopped at "it's a 1969." I got that it was your grandfather's so if it really means that much to you, perhaps it's worth the investment. Assuming he bequeathed it directly to you, I'd think it a nice gesture to see that it gets some proper use.

Hey I'm so cool I'm not going to read your entire post and then make another asinine post about how I didn't read it!

Those accutrons have become a fairly collectible watch. Any watch maker will probably require an overhaul of the watch in order to fix it. I.e., it is going to require more than just a new battery to fix it. I would suggest calling a watchmaker (like that old time dude that was recommended) and tell him the problem and see if they can give you an idea of what it would cost. Since they specialize in those watches, they should be able to give you a pretty good idea of what it is going to take to get it running properly even without seeing it.

That's it? Why not go the full nine yards and write out a nonsensical paragraph about some dorks dressed up in costumes worried about a piece of metal?

OMGZ good idea. Genius!

Oh, and I meant "novella" instead of "novel" that should make it less douchey and more correct!
