Pay a visit to Marks and Spencer.
RTW suits readily available, should fit within your price range of about 400ish.

Heading to Singapore in early June. I'll only be in town for almost 4 days (arrive Sunday, leave Wednesday). Is that enough time to have a good quality custom suit made? Has anyone used Mohan's? Any idea on what i could expect to pay for a suit as well as a jacket, trousers & shirts? Any other suggestions of high quality shops I should hit?

Again, I would recommend Iris Tailor.

No, not four days unless you are ok with tourist suits

does anyone know of good alternatives to Iris Tailor in Singapore? Since we're on the subject. Would still like to know if anyone has had experience with Eurobest Tailors in Chinatown.

For shoes you can try afinepairofshoes. They're quite affordable during sales. Suits are really much better in HK. And please dont get black haha. Apply for mini-pupillages in hk! The advocacy in HK is slightly different from what we're used to in Singapore.

Oh and the shape of the Singaporean shoemaker's last seem slightly off. At least to my eye. Zee's in HK make a good chisel toe thats not too pointy.

Yup. I'm aware that Ed Et Al has just launched their new collection. Took a look at their new stuff but can't help but get the impression that almost none of their new models can really be worn as a "staple". They all pretty much scream "statement pieces" to me, with the colours and all.

This thread was made some time ago so I've actually since already had a suit made. Regrettably, it's black, but as I've found out the courts in Singapore are pretty strict about this requirement.

Three of the old collection (double monks, captoe balmorals, and wingtip balmorals) are relaunched in the new collection's last. Those might be the more "staple" of the bunch- available in black and all. I do agree that the new collection is flashy save for the derby boots and the wingtip derbies.

Hi guys - quick question - was thinking of getting either the Duxton or the Shenton from edetal. My feet aren't too wide so not too concerned about that; otherwise, would the sizing be similar to (e.g.) Gucci in terms of length? Thanks.

Stay away from Euro tailors - they specialise in tourist trapping

Go to Tony's Tailors and get Tony Russo to measure you up. He is at The Central, just above Clarke Quay. Tel: 9765-1378. Moodley also works there but try to make sure you deal only with Tony and nobody else.
