FWIW, the latest issue of Motorcycle Consumer News has an awesome comparison of the BMW R1200GS, KTM 990 Adventure, and the Buell Ulysses XB12X.

no, I have one of those too. Very different bikes. This one much stiffer, more motard style. Somewhere between dirtbike and roadbike.

I have no exp. w/ a belt, but the bmw salespeople say they're more reliable than chains. No idea if that's true.

Interesting. That looks a lot like the XR400 frame and I couldn't remember if they ever made a version for the 250. It's considerably stiffer than the old tube frame.

Finally did a tail chop along with mounting new aluminum turn signals (as opposed to the stock chromed plastic ones):

I think it looks pretty decent. I will rig up some sort of "fender" to help keep spray from the underside of the seat etc.

My new Vespa..... So I traded in the flame job one and have just gotten this back (straight swap with a mate who restores them).... A few things to go with it...firstly it needs a rack at the back for mounting spare wheel, a couple of badges (Vespa and Saigon Scooter Center) but I also want to give it a little something to kinda make it pop...at the moment thinking about a racing stripe in silver across the front and on the side panels, but not quite decided yet...any ideas welcome.
