A lot of Paul Stuart tailored clothing is Samuelsohn - both normal and Phineas Cole. But some of each are made by other makers as well. Obviously their stuff marked as "Made in Italy" is not made by Samuelsohn. They have Made in Italy stuff for Pual Stuart and Phineas Cole.

I have never seen Made in Italy Phinease Cole suit. Mainline Paul Stuart used to have made in Italy stuff though priced like 5k for two piece, which used to be Isaia, no idea who it is now.

OK. I have.

They have Italian stuff that is much more reasonably priced than this. Has it been a long time since you shopped there?

Most of their staples are Samuelsohn, but a decent chunk of their seasonal stuff is other.

yup, been a while I suppose (like 2 years before I bought something last week), now I think I have seen Made in Italy Sports Coat for PC, but pretty sure all of the PC suits I have seen were made in Canada, though definitely could be wrong as I didn't bother to check most of them.

I know outwear/sweater wise it's all over the place, Made in England/Scotland/Ireland/Italy etc. Can you recall who made the mainline made in Italy PS suit? My father has one of the Made in Italy by Isaia from a few years ago (and it definitely cost more than mainline), but don't think Isaia makes for them anymore.

I have heard ISAIA used to and St Andrews used to and still may, but to be honest I have no idea.

You're right that sportcoats are more likely to be non-Sam..., while suits typically are Sam.

Yes sweaters coats etc are from all over.

Stuart's Choice was made by first St. Andrews then Isaia. It was pricey.

The soft Italian tailored pieces in the Phineas line are mostly made by Belvest, though they do use a smattering of other makers for the Phineas Italian sportswear.

I'm visiting Manhattan on Saturday and hitting Bloomingdale's, Epaulet, and Carson Street Clothiers. Is Century 21 worth the detour right now?

I stopped by Bergdorf Goodman this afternoon and their 75% sale is still going on. Very good selection of dress shirts from their store brand all the way to Isaia, RLPL and T&A in most sizes. Shoes are 50% off but the selection isn't the best. Nice tie and sweater selection as well. Happy hunting.
