Macy's suit feedback

Hi all, I've been looking for a new suit to replace my old traditional style, plus it is so old it has holes and stuff now. It's not something to wear every day, but something that can be used flexibly (wedding, events, presentations, job interviews, etc). My job doesn't require daily suit wear. I went to Nordstrom, J Crew, and Macy's and they generally settled on a 36S that looks like good fit for me. I used to do 36R and told them I wanted a more closer fit, modern style, since I am thin and my old suit was always feeling large on me. A Ted Baker suit fit pretty well from Nordstrom, but they were $800. I visited a Ted Baker store but their suits were a little too flashy, whereas I was looking for a neutral look. J Crew was about $450 but the suit they had in store was a bit damaged. At Macy's, I brought home a few to take a closer look. Which do you guys think I should keep, or are they all terrible? Thanks.

1. Calvin Klein Slim Fit, 36S, with 30x30 pants, dark charcoal grey
* fits well, pants seem short but couldn't find a 30x32 in store

2. Bar III Slim Fit, 36S, with 29x30 Slim Fit pants, black
* I think it fits well overall

3. Bar III Skinny Fit, 36S, with 30x30 Slim Fit pants, black
* looked okay in store, but here the jacket feels very tight when buttoned; pants are okay, length can be fixed I assume

In all honesty, none of them are great. You’re going to compromise significantly on anything at Macy’s and it shows in both the fabric quality and the construction on all three suits. Return all three, seriously. Then head over to Spier and Mackay’s website and pick up any of their navy suits in a 36R slim fit. You definitely need the slim fit from your photos, but the short length you chose is too short and your butt is going to show from the rear which is a really bad look. With Spier you’ll much better fabric choices and excellent cut and construction (lower buttoning point, properly sized lapels, soft shoulders so it’s not so boxy around the shoulders and arms, etc.). Spier will look a bit more pricey than Macy’s but if you don’t wear a suit often, but you may only need one good suit and this will do it for you. You can also get 20% off on your first order by requesting a referral code from any of the gentlemen here on the official Spier and mackay thread.

here’s just one recommended suit:
