These a good jeans I own a couple of pairs, not in the RAW form though.

I have trouble getting jeans to fit me, and these some how work well.

I love mine still, but I'm noticing that they are stretch monsters. Buy them too small, and work them out.

I got these a long time ago before I knew what raw jeans were. After about 10 washes they faded a ton from the dark indiglo color.

They are a very dark blue/indigo with a slight sheen and no pre-distress or fading. Don't really know what's been done to them... They are pretty soft, but included the tag about wear and dye transfer.

I also found some others marked 514 slim straight in a more blue-ish color with the colored block Levi cartoon logo inside the back waist, red/white Levi's logo fabric on the inside of the pockets, and lots of creases already behind the knees. They also had some dark 514s with button flaps over the back pockets which I didn't like at all.

I purchased some of those very same from a Levis store last month. I think they're great. I think they're what Levis calls "soft rigid," a one-washed denim, like just this side of raw or STF.

Those look a lot like my 'tumbled rigid' 514s when they were new. Simply the best jeans I have ever owned, bar none.

So do these shrink up much? I just got these one size smaller than my other pre-distressed 514's and they're fairly lose. Can I shrink them some how (soaking?) or should I get an even smaller size?

I've posted before on these. Love the fit. LOVE IT. The quality of the denim is extremely horrible, though. Expect 6-8 months of regular wear before the knees go, plus key wear on the pocket and if you're lucky, a huge gaping hole on your wallet pocket. For $35, what do you expect, though?

The denim does seem fairly thin. How was the shrinkage though?

I didn't notice much shrinkage on any of the 3 pairs I've owned. I can't speak for the raw denim as I've not seen them at the macy's at the Beverly Center yet. I might swing by today and see if they have some and will let you know when I wash them in a month or so.

I didn't noticed much shrinkage on the non-raw 514's I have either but the denim on these is different and much thinner.

I did just measure the inseam on my new raw pair and they are 2 inches longer than marked. The inseam on my other pre-washed 514's measure even with what they're marked.

I haven't washed my t/rigid 514s yet and they've stretched a tiny bit in the waist. I sized down for them after experiencing the stretch monster thing with a couple of pre-washed versions. In fact, I have to machine dry the prewashed to get them to temporarily fit right again. But after a good day's wear, they're big again. Definitely go down at least a size in whatever finish you get.

Anyone know where I can get a pair of these in 34x36 other than Macy's? Those damned countryists don't ship to Europe.

My t/rigids finally started to look a bit ratty so I got a new pair of 514s in raw, after reading this thread. I must say that I am very impressed. The cut and quality is definitely different in the raw red-tabs. I think a like the colour of the t/rigids just a little more, but will withhold judgement until the new jeans have seen a washing machine. Definitely worth the extra $20 for these.

I have owned a few pairs of uber expensive jeans in my time, but these really are shaping-up to be my favorites.

I got a pair and yes, I can agree that they are stretch monsters. There 34 waist and I wear a 34 waist, but if I don't wear a belt they will fall down.

But I love the jeans, just need to buy a smaller waist size.
