Junya x Vanson Collaboration
Retail ~$2800 (2007 dollars)
Size S
FW 07 (seen on runway, one of Junya’s best collections)
Made in USA
Condition: Worn but in good condition. The inner lining in the inner chest pocket is ripped. Obviously not visible at all, and easily fixed.
This is the perfect leather jacket. There is literally a 130+ page thread on SF dedicated to trying (and failing) to produce a replica. Thats how perfect the design is. This jacket is the best of both worlds design (Junya) + leather (Vanson). It is actual competition weight leather, intended for actual motorcycle riding. It weighs about 6lbs (really heavy for a size small). My collarbone literally gets bruised from wearing the jacket with a tee, thats how thick/sturdy/heavy the leather is, even 8 years after being produced.
The details are insane. 10 gauge YKK front zip that zips like butter and has an amazing patina. Dangly circle zips on the pockets. Small circular armpit vents. Accordion shoulders, and nice and thick leather belt. Signature Junya camo lining that contrasts so well with the heavy black and silver outer.
The cut is amazing, fits true to size but slim. Its rare that you see a leather jacket with both quality leather and a slim cut. High armholes, slim sleeves, beautiful waist suppression. Would gladly trade for an XS if anyone had, tragically too big on me now. The cut/leather/hardware is easily better than the $5000 SLP rider I had.
Don't confuse this jacket with the diffusion line versions. This is THE original collab, as featured on the runway. AFAIK, there was an eYe version released earlier which retailed for about $1300, had no belt, and was just shittier in general. There also was a version produced under the Junya CDG black label line which was also shittier. Also the paisley lined jackets were of less quality, as well as the tartan lined Junya jackets. This is the first ever iteration, done in the best quality leather and fit, in Junya's signature camo lining to pretty much indicate superiority over the diffusion/inferior jackets.
Measurements:
Shoulder: 17.5"
Chest: 19"
Midsection (slimmest point): 17.75"
Sleeve (measured along curve): 26"
Back length (excluding collar): 25.75"
