Once we can get the developers to create one filter, it should be easy to add more. The difficult one, and different from the others, would be the brand, which MUST be done via use of the tagging system, rather than via a dropdown list, since brands pop up all the time, and we simply would not be able to keep up, nor want to limit people to posting only specific tags.

The second is not going to happen. There must be an incentive to become a member and stay logged in. Use of the B&S is one of those tools. Every marketplace in the world uses this mechanism. Otherwise, we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot, paying for development that decreases engagement and immersion into the system.
