It wasn't made specifically as a spring/summer piece. They already said its called the "summer rider" simply because it is being released in the summer and has design details that make it different to past riders. Afaik the weight is the same (obv no flannel lining though).

Summer Rider. 5'10, 140. Size small rider, medium classic crew, medium villain. Fantastic quality, nothing less than what I expected from JE. Sleeves are a bit short on me, but I don't really mind. Only real complaint I have is the arms are quite restricting inside the elbows when I raise my arms, not sure if that's just the leather needing to break in. I can comfortably zip it up all the way with a tee under. Surprised I could layer open with a medium villain, I'm going to end up rebuying them all in small though. Overall, very happy with it. Back flap open with the mesh lining underneath
I think it fits well. Wear it with what you plan on wearing with most often and then zip it up and see how your arms and chest feel. If it fits well I say keep it. Leather will never feel like a cotton jacket. It's restrictive by nature.

Rider looks quality. Anyone know when the JE is arriving at Barneys? I'd love to try one on before picking it up.
KITH Brooklyn had the F/W 2015 riders jacket and I tried it on there before buying it from JE directly

Worth checking them out to see if they have the new one, good chance they do

I would size up on that jacket. The sleeve length just looks too short for me... This may just be personal preference though.. Quality looks great

Anyone have fit pics they can post of them wearing the Zincs? Saw a few in the photo gallery but it's hard as hell to use on mobile lol

That's exactly what I meant lol. Being released in Spring/Summer makes it a Spring/Summer piece. I didn't mean that it was lighter than their previous leathers, just saying they wouldn't release one that's on the heavy side for S/S.
