Yes. Wow That's a rather significant 500 GBP difference if you ask me. Worth flying to Tokyo and visit the places, and have the shoes made up there!
Have heard many gd things abt these Japanese shoemakers -- that their finishing on the shoes are the best bar none.
Are Suzuki's MTO shoes hand-welted?
Spigola MTO starts from ¥108,000 JPY direct from Suzuki's Kobe studio (as of March 2013). That is $1,050 USD, or $8,170 HKD.
They start a bit more @ the Tokyo Trunk Show. Price here starts from ¥126,000 JPY. That is $1,230 USD, or $9,530 HKD.
You can probably shave off 5% VAT from that (not much though...)
Price doesn't include Shoe trees.
I'm not sure if The Armoury includes shoe trees in their price. If not, I say their upcharge is quite steep in today's currency. $15,000 HKD = ($1,930 USD / ¥198,000 JPY )
