Hello gents,

As I am moving to Saigon (has anyone paid a visit to Vietnam?), where the temp is quite high year round, usually around 80 degrees, I am in dire need of a lightweight jacket. Been thinking about a double breasted jacket in a brighter shade of navy, and possibly in linen. I will be pairing the jacket mostly with OCBDs and polos and chinos. Wondering what your thoughts and recommendations are on a versatile jacket in hot climate, in terms of cut, fabric and color. Suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Look for lightweight wool, and unlined or partially lined. It's the lining that makes the jacket hot.

Consider high tech fabrics for undershirt - a good skin tight wicking undershirt is your best friend in a hot humid climate.

I live in Florida and wears suits 5 days a week and for about 7 months the temperature is 90 degrees plus everyday. The weight is the most crucial. I have quite a few suits and anything with a mid to heavy weight has been donated.

My favorite light weight summer suits are made by Castangia. They are light as a cloud.
All of my suits are summer wools, some have a mix of silk or linen. You can be quite comfortable.
