I actually haven't encountered the flying squirrel problem so I'm afraid I wouldn't be a good advocate for this cause. Sorry.

I did. I tried it on in the store. It was unexpectedly soft.

But somebody told me they thought 70 bucks was a little high for lambswool so I've held back. Still like how it looks though.

For J. Crew's lambswool, yes. I only own a shawl pull over lambswool that I picked up at major discount last year, but that's the only reason. It feels as soft as a brillo pad if that's your thing.

I'm still loving my lambswool shawl pullovers from last year. The armholes are quite high, and the wool is not scratchy at all. The again, I only ever wear it with a LS BD, so none of it actually touches my skin. It's waaay less scratchy than Shetland wools. The warmth:weight ratio is pretty damn high, too.

Edit: and I think I'm going to have to get me that tweed turtleneck sweater for xmas.

That turtleneck is the ****. I guess it's going to be that or the new LL Bean Norwegian sweater.

Argh, how are they out of graphite essential chinos until November?!

I guess you can take the sweaters to a tailor to take in the sides and make the armholes higher, though it would be nice if they had the right fit off the rack...

It is, but much of the alpaca and chunkier knit materials include some sort of acrylic or nylon type of blend or what-not, but the at the price point there shouldn't be much complaint in my opinion. It was a small percentage as I recall. If you want pure 100% blends for type of garment, then J. Crew isn't the place and your budget needs to increase at a minimum by double.

I've seen a few of those new poly blend sweaters in store and they feel and smell cheap.

I wondered if that was the one you were talking about. I don't think I'd pull it off at my age. I'd rather wear a solid color cardi with a button down shirt with some pop.
