Is the 888 the same cut as the 633 just with a higher rise? Want to kop the OD 633 but none in my size atm, and there’s the 21oz 888..

If I remember correctly, the 633 is cut more like a much more tapered 634 whereas while the 888 is tapered, it has a higher rise and more room in the thigh, and most likely a larger leg opening than the OD.

I like a lot of Ironheart shirts but their sizing makes no sense. I am 5'-11" tall, 220 pounds, not a bodybuilder, pretty normal. I wear an XL in most brands (sometimes XXL). I need at least 25.5" from pit to pit with 36" sleeves. In Ironheart sizing this puts me at XXXXL. The trouble is the sleeve length on this size is 39". Who wears a 50" chest with a 39" sleeve length? Also I hear the armholes are cut very tight. I am smitten with this shirt but scared about the sizing. Any experiences to share?

I have the same general problem. In my case 5'8" with 42" chest. Their XLs are sometimes tight on me and but like 2-3" too long in the body and sleeves. I don't understand why they make like 10 different cuts for bottoms but only one cut for tops.

Not isolated to IH, most high end denim brands seem to assume that if you have a chest over 40", you must be at least 6'2" and 36" arms.

I haven't had luck but if the body fits you maybe you can find a tailor to shorten the sleeves for you.

I thought about shortening the sleeves but it would require removing the cuffs and moving them up but there is the button on the sleeve portion. Also you wouldn't want to take it to some hack tailor so I'm sure the alteration would be expensive and the shirt is already $375.....
The Ironheart rep explained that this is a Japanese brand and people are smaller there. Okay how many Japanese men have a 50" chest with 39" sleeve? I would guess not too many.
Too bad because if these shirts were sized to "traditional" measurements I would purchase at least five or more. :brick:
I ended up buying the blue plaid, we'll see how it works out.

Yeah, I've had the same issues with the alterations. I took an IH denim western to a couple of places and they saw the heavy fabric, snaps, chainstitch, etc. and didn't want to touch it. I am sure it would not be cheap but denim specialist places might be able to do a good job with it. I live in a large city but it's hard to find places like that here so I kinda gave up.

I understand the 'Japanese brand' argument in general, but again they make a ton of different jeans cuts which don't all correspond to a small and skinny body type. IH also has a large global presence with Iron Heart UK being particularly prominent.

Good luck with the shirt, for all my complaints I do like IH and have a couple of pairs of their jeans in my rotation (and a couple of their shirts just hanging around the closet). Top notch stuff.

Requesting a fit check on two different jackets in two different size. Forgive the hastily taken pictures:

Denim looks spot on to me. The second might be a hair large but maybe better for layering. Hot wash should bring it Ina bit.

both look OK but i prefer the second. assuming you will wash it at some point you have a bit of wiggle room. after 15 years of squeezing into various raw denim i am all about the wiggle these days.

To be fair, IH does make a lot of their shirting to fit western builds. Not many other Japanese brands do this. And the number of westerners with bigger builds such as yours are few and far between. They do offer 3x and 4x on occasion so at least they're trying.

If you want "traditional" measurements then your best bet is Filson. Their sizes are freakin' huge.

The IH shirt arrived. Chest size fits with no room to spare. Sleeves go past my hands, I folded them over like French cuffs. Armholes very tight, no room for a T-shirt underneath. I am giving up, I'm unsubscribing from their updates, problem is I love their shirts but the sizing will never work for me. Not to mention is it really worth $375? Ironically they included a flyer for Sonder Supplies. They have a shirt, visually, almost identical to the IH shirt, less expensive with normal sizing, XL = 51" chest with 37" sleeves. I am probably going to order this one and send the IH back. Learned my lesson.
