I wouldn't want to be wearing two layers. i have one photo where you can see the water evaporating off of the lake. The advice of the guide company pre-arrival was to purchase long-sleeved cotton shirts. You need long sleeves for the bugs, but you want them as thin as possible because of the heat. Same for pants. Everything I was wearing got really dirty though. I wouldn't spend any amount of money on clothes to wear in a place like that.

d00d he was r33t. He'd grown up in the area and done the army thing (it's mandatory). He spoke english, spanish and german and was very knowledgable about the ecosystem and all the various species. He was also just a really cool guy. I think i've already said this, but while machu picchu was a sight to behold, the rainforest was my favorite part of the trip.
