Hello everyone,

I need your expert guidance on something: I have really large shoulders but a really thin waist.
Up until now I could work in casual clothes so I'd wear cargo pants and slim fit t-shirts, so it looked better.

But I have to work a couple of days a week in a suit, and 3 days in "casual chic" clothing, whatever that means. I bought some tailored suits so this is taken care of, my question is about the other clothing. What would you recommend?

I'd like to wear slim-fit shirts under light wool pullovers but I'm afraid it will make my torso look even more disproportionate.

What's your opinion on this? What would you wear?

Thanks!

If you want your torso to look smaller wear darker colours.

OTOH why do you think this is a problem?

I have the same problem, and what's even worse is I'm short so some things just look downright awful on me because they are too long and fit my torso like a parachute.

Surpisingly, GAP merino v-necks fit perfectly. I usually wear these with slim chinos and an OCBD shirt under it. For a less casual look you could easily pair it with wool slacks instead.

Well, I'm sorry that I can't give you any additional advice. I can tell you that my brother-in-law had a 24 in drop while playing college football in the sixties. Six foot three, 56 inch chest and a 32 inch waist.
