A little backstory, I used to be 300 lbs as a teen probably around 14-15. What I would usually end up wearing are Southpole t-shirts and sweatshorts/stretchy pants. Nowadays at a solid 190 I still have a bit of fat but I go to the gym a lot and am working on losing weight but being 21 soon I want to stop dressing like a teen. After years of not knowing how to dress I usually end up just wearing black/grey cargo shorts and an Aero t-shirt. I want to do a full wardrobe change. I just went through a nasty breakup so I'd say it's high time I start to dress to impress. I wear black running shoes literally constantly. What would be best for me to wear at 5'6" 190? Here's pictures

What do you like? Look around the forum to get some ideas, some direction. You don't want the interwebz to do it for you or you'll never be comfortable in what you're wearing, and that's more important than anything when it comes to pulling it off

I like stuff that just doesn't seem to attract chicks and gets bad reviews by my friends who are girls. Switched it up and bought some jeans, undershirt graphic T's and plaid button ups, thought it looked nice and got good reviews.

Standard answer:

Rick Owens leather jacket
White cotton t-shirt
Black uni-qlo jeans
$2000 boots

Actual answer:

Just browse the other threads here and see what interests you, gotta be comfortable with what you wear, nobody can tell that to you

I don't know your friends, but just because they're girls doesn't mean they have a clue what they're talking about. If you're just using clothes as bait to get laid (not judging) then their opinion might be useful. Otherwise, you should probably ignore it and do what the **** you want. There are plenty of places to find inspiration, but it'll take time to find your sweet spot.
