I bought a pair of black 8" steel-toe work boots made by a company called Herman. The guy I bought it from dated these boots to the 60s, but I was wondering whether anyone knew anything more about this company and this particular model of boot.
The leather looks like it is full grain and the "Neoprene, cork-grip" sole seems to be Goodyear welted to the upper.
I know Herman has been bought out by Walmart, but apparently the vintage boots had a reputation for being well-made.

Also, would you put shoe trees in these boots despite the steel toe?
