Help - don't have my size at Brooks!

I went to Brooks yesterday and tried on a couple of suits. My waist is 34", and my suit size is 44L. However, I was in the BB store yesterday and I tried on a 45L and it fit much better than the 44L. Either I have gotten a little larger (probable) or the BrooksEase fit ran a little tight.

Anyways, I need 2 suits -- navy and grey. Both of my current ones are beat up. I want to take advantage of the 15% online sale today, but I am having trouble finding any 45L suits! I am only finding 44L/46L or 45R.

Also, I want plain front (non-pleated pants) but my thighs are big. So, in the BB store, the tailor suggested moving up to a 37" waist, and then tailor the waist in. However, the tailor suggested 37R, and I am only finding 37L. Does it matter?

Anyways...I need help.

My questions:
- What suit size should I get if I can't find 45L online? 44L or 46L?
- Does it matter if I get 37L as a substitute for 37R?
- Any other ideas for me?

All help is greatly appreciated, thank you & happy holidays!!!

Question --

If I order the 44L and the size isn't perfect, can I exchange in the store?
