I may try to take a ride to the Denim Bar today to pick out my first pair of denim. Well, expensive (to me) denim. I want to start off with a dark pair. I'm not a slim fit guy, more of a straight leg. Is the APC standard the way to go?

best suggestion is to try them out. If you like straight pair, I would go with the APC rescue, as they are not tapered such as the APC NS. Also, a warning: APC's will feel like steel the first time you hold them. Don't be afraid.

If you are going there try on everything and see what you like. KMW 1980 is nice for a straight leg.

Yeah just try on a few pairs and see what you like.

APC and KMW are definitely good starting places.

But.. you only need one brand! Seriously though, if you don't find what you want at Denim Bar, the Barney's Coop in Georgetown has like 15 different pairs of nudies.

wouldn't APC's be better for a first pair?

The Denim Bar doesn't have any of those brands anymore ( please read posts)
If you want KMW , APC , new Rag and bone, Spurr, nudie pm me to make an appointment.

You can drive and check out the DB ask for Jeff or Robin. However to my knowledge they don't have full size runs of much.
I am sure Dave can second me on that.

Best,
mauro
