i'm going to a college graduation on tuesday (not mine). I recall what i wore to my own, but i was also younger and far drunker than i will be tuesday. also, it looks like it's going to be over 90 degrees out, and it may very well be an outdoor graduation.

what should i wear?

You tell us nothing of why you are going so a pair of decent trosuers and a shirt. Unless you have any formal roll or are there as a guest of a graduand there is little point in doing any more these days.

thanks GBR; i'm going as it's a family member who is graduating, so it's in nothing more than a supportive "be a good person" type roll. i was thinking of, perhaps, a pair of linen trousers, but is that too informal?

Linen trousers would be fine. Dress shirt. Wear a tie. Outdoors in hot weather, so skip the jacket.

No point in wearing a jacket under a polyester robe. Have your family hold on to it in the audience if you need it for pictures.
