can't speak for @stevent
but i have it as well and i love mine. considering it's f/w it's pretty light but you can feel how sturdy it is. plus it looks way good

Nice collection. How do you like that quilted one?

I actually had it listed for sale but after photos today am keeping it. It's a warmer shirt since it's lined and I'm a sucker for blackwatch. Photo doesn't show it clearly but it's 2013, 2012 and a faded 2011 blackwatch

I received the french linen shirt from the warehouse sale, and the linen is super thick and gorgeous. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Where's this from? I can't seem to find the long sleeve version anywhere.

Someplace in Australia. I think I'd actually prefer the short sleeved version since it is such a summery shirt.

Doesn't heavy linen kind of defeat the purpose of a linen shirt? I'd love to see pics of that one!

Yes and no. I'd be happy to wear a heavy linen shirt under a merino/cashmere Inis Meain knit. I have a couple other Gitman linen shirts that are thinner, and they are my favorite summer shirts.

medium. I actually just took another look and Needsupply did have the length listed as 31". I never really check closely for that measurement since it has never been a problem. Normally just check the pit to pit and shoulder.

Strange thing I just noticed is the front length is similar to my other gitmans but the back goes down further. The fabric is heavy so that might account for part of the difference in size.

I know people say they are pre-washed and dont shrink much but I might give this one a wash and throw it in the dryer. I normally just hang them to dry. Any downside to drying the shirt once?? I know using a dryer is not great for shirts but dont think once would do much harm.
I was driving myself crazy looking for a tailor to hem the shirt and keep the same shape as it was originally. Im sure its not a hard alteration but read nightmare stories of people getting shirts back all fucked up or they do a straight hem or something.

Decided to give it a wash and tumble dry on low to get any initial shrinkage out of the way so I would know how much to get hemmed.

I have never had a Gitman shirt shrink in the past so I wasn't expecting much. Measured the back length when I took it out and its 29 inches now! Very happy I decided to wash it first or else I probably would have ended up with a shirt too short. Fits perfect now. Maybe this particular fabric they don't don't pre-shrink..not really sure. Just a heads up for anyone who runs into the same problem.

Ah, good combo.

Likewise, I have 1 Gitman in Linen and it's super lightweight. It's one of my favorite summer shirts.

Do the linen shirts run larger?

Who's selling Gitmans with short collars this season? I don't see any short collars in the creatures of comfort collection. And I think in Need Supply..
Looking for the "good luck" gitman shirt with a short collar.

Received the island print shirt from MyHabit. It fits substantially smaller than my standard blue OCBD, but that's ok for a summer shirt. It has nice smoke MOP buttons, too :)

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Ended up returning mine because it was a bit too tight on me.

Got my linen button down from My Habit today after being sent the wrong one initially. Comfy shirt. First linen piece in years. It's a bit more relaxed fit than my other gitman shirts. Should work out well for a Texas summer. Now I need the new linen stripe from this season. It's so damn good...
