In light of the very cold weather we have been experiencing the last few weeks (at leafs in the Northern hemisphere), this weeks challenge is to do a three-piece look for some extra warmth. However this has to be done with a creative twist - no true three-piece suits are allowed but rather you must use an odd waistcoat or alternatively cardigan to create something that mimics a three-piece look. I will allow anything that has buttons on the front to be used and I will also allow odd jacket and trousers, so suits are not strictly needed (although I would prefer to see as many looks as possible that incorporate a suit for a more true three-piece look). NB, ties must be worn! So gentlemen, dig through your closest for that odd waistcoat you never use or that cardigan you didn't remember that you owned and do a creative take on the three-piece suit. EDIT: On request I will also allow pairings of matching trousers and waistcoat with an odd jacket...... EDIT #2: Deadline for submission of pics in Sunday Feb 9, 09.00 CET (=UTC+1)

I was adviced to put these photos here rather than into What are you wearing today. More photos from this look here: http://blueloafers.com/outfits/winter-layering/
Doubt tomorrow's fit will qualify, so here's the official entry.A&S Canali HF custom waistcoat Ben Silver Unknown sq BB Braces C&J
Since winter in the Southern Hemisphere is half a year away, this is from half a year ago. The white long-sleeved polo made the cut for "anything that has buttons on the front", but just barely. There's also a SWD interpretation of this challenge - but I'm not sure if we're allowed more than just one entry.Go back an re-read the requirements again...Ah, missed out the tie. My bad. Fixed it.
I guess I have to play in my own challenge. No PS today, I thought the waistcoat was busy enough....
Three challenges in one. Darker trouser than SC. Grey SC Waistcoat challenge Jacket- grey Trousers - mid grey Waist coat - navy blue Tie - green Shirt - light blue Socks - burgundy Shoes - black

Decided to go with today's fit as my official entry; I prefer it to yesterday's.
Haven't posted any fitpics in a while, because just like HF and some others I'm having problems with this season's poor lighting. Anyway, today's challenge insipired me to take some pics. The navy blazer has quite some texture in real life, but I doubt I'd wear that combination. I present: 2 vests, 1 suit [SUB](and 1 blazer)[/SUB]
Did my best with the dubious lighting.J
My attempt:
Okay, this is literally the only thing I can do that makes any sense in this season, given that I only have only 1 heavy suit, 3 wintery ties and 1 heavy odd waistcoat, here in Japan... I had a small amount of fun with a new PS from Post-Imperial though. deets: Avon House suit in Moon Yorkshire salt-and-pepper tweed; Old Town charcoal Harris tweed vest; Maker's Shirt (Kamakura) fine green/blue grid on white BD - colour best in the close-up picture; vintage British royal blue wool tie; Post-Imperial PS; Loake 1880 tan brogue boots (with royal blue laces, which you can't see); also Chup blue Fair Isle socks (unseen).
I wasn't going to upload my entry but meh, here it is.
Hello Gents, This is such a fantastic challenge, given my username I'm feeling the pressure!!! I am away from home at the moment but as luck would have it I just happen to have a 3 piece with me, and a two piece with an odd waistcoat so here's my entry. The waistcoat is a vintage doeskin my dad used to wear in the 60's so it's one of my favourites. Not bad for something put together in a hotel room!! Cheers, Peter
I though I was going to have to miss out because I didn't have a chance to take a picture yesterday. Fortunately I found this picture of the same outfit, albeit with a different shirt and tie.@Claghorn I don't know that my beard is that epic.... It certainly has been more eccentric in years past.
