Fitting advice for navy suit

Hi everyone, I appreciate the advice Styleforum members have for this forum. I saw a second hand Corneliani going for cheap. The measurements matched and so I bought. This is called the Leader model though I don't know where it falls in the quality spectrum. To me, the fit is good. However, for that 'staple go to navy suit that everyone needs to have, preferably MTM', does this suit satisfy those fit requirements. Is it worth taking any part of the suit for alterations? Cheers, Donny

It definitely would need to be let out in the waist. Are you throwing your shoulders back unnaturally? It sure appears so in the pictures and if that's the case, then any fit advice wouldn't be very helpful. If you are standing naturally, then the sleeves (upper back) are enough of an issue that I wouldn't bother tailoring it and try to return.

Agree with Murl here. Try standing naturally (if you're not), and share with us those photos, please!

You could spend a $1,000 or even more on a bespoke tailored suit or a custom tailored suit, but if the shoulder pads extend beyond your shoulders or if it does not fit at the waist, the suit has mostly lost all its value!

But wait, a good tailor experienced in altering bespoke suits can fit the suit to your profile to give you the distinguished look that you seek from your investment. I suggest you consider spending a little bit more to have it properly fitted. Trust me you will not regret the additional investment. I cannot stress enough that the fitting should only be done by an experienced suit tailor!

The waist needs to be opened up a little as the jacket appears to be straining a little at the top button which tends to stretch the shoulders forward too. The trousers need a little of trimming, ideally the tailor will cut the length a little and reattach the bottom, as the trousers are bunching at the shoe and therefore throw the crease out of line at the waist and thighs.

Take a look at the image below and you will understand what I mean!

Thanks everyone for their opinions. Looks like this jacket ain't fitting me right. I'm currently using it temporarily until I can afford something better. I'm getting there.
As I really wish to settle on a good fitting staple navy suit, I'm thinking:

1. Isaia, ~US$1,200 at discount. I've tried a few and I'll take pictures for your assessment again. I notice the quality and the soft feel of the suit.
2. A MTM at somewhere like Ascot Chang, ~US$1,800.

There's a thing about getting a brand that resonates with me. It's the feel of getting a house Italian cut. While Ascot could copy the design, it just doesn't feel the same.
