Think I posted this in the wrong place previously. Apologies.

I wonder whether I might draw on your expertise and guidance for the purposes of fitcheck. Just bought this rather lovely Natalino sports jacket in my usual size (48 IT).

I like it a lot, but am wondering whether it is a tad toon large, or perhaps wide at the waist?

I could size down, though that would involve going with a different cloth as this one is sold out in 46, which I am reticent to do.

The sleeves are still unfinished, in case I need to return. If not I'll shorten them ofc.

What do you think?

Very grateful, as ever.

Length looks fine. Shoulders I can’t make an exact determination but they don’t immediately stand out as too big.

With regards to sizing down, I wouldn’t. I like a slightly roomier fit. Plus a size down may be too short.

But the sleeves definitely need to be shortened an inch, I’d say. They are too long.

Is this your natural stance? Many people have a tendency to stand more erect than they normally do when they pose for photos. I ask because if this is indeed your natural stance, then this jacket is not a good fit for you. The front balance is too short. The lines on the fabric pattern are slanted upwards rather than being parallel to the floor. This leads to the quarters looking too closed. It wouldn’t be fixed by going down a size.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I'll definitely get the sleeves shortened. They arrived unfinished.

It does look like an awkward stance/photo actually. But helpful to know about the front balance. I'll try it on again, and try to stand normally, to take a look at this. Thank you.
