Yikes man, does your tasteful stylishness know no bounds? That 3970 is first-ballot for sure. No one does perpetual calendars (hands down my favorite top shelf complication) like PP, and that is one of their best. With how quickly you went from Nautilus to 3970, I'm sitting over here wondering if you're about to post a pic of a 5204 or something, hah. Great watch.Quote: Dan, thought you might agree regarding the Nautilus. Thanks much! Quote:In that case: Not quite an EG, but a close "relative" - GG Colcutt single monkstrap / Deco last / vintage cherry with chestnut pingrain upper. Accompanied by a PP 3970 perpetual calendar chrono in yellow gold. And Pantherella socks.A patek is never a bad look.
Is that the midnight and blue twill? How's the twill stack up to the suede in person?
MTO...?I already have the dark oak and walnut so I think the blue would have to be my next choice.
It's OK, the Aquanaut can't hear us here, we can say what we really think...A patek is never a bad look.
Speaking of straps, I was on ABP's site last night playing around with some of their navy alligator and I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on whether or not a strap should be lined (I'd be wearing it mostly in warmer weather). If that's off topic, sorry, and feel free to ignore. The iwc Portuguese chrono with the blue strap would also be a great accompaniment.
BB will do a special order on an "F" width?
They did for me to get a "D" width. Metal toe taps too.
Definitely considering it.Is that the midnight and blue twill? How's the twill stack up to the suede in person?

A friend and I actually did try the 5204 on a few months ago, but for a variety of reasons (not the least of which was the asking price of $375,000 from the dealer I was speaking to at the time), I passed. This is the 5204 on my friend's wrist. Interestingly, this is also the first 5204P to enter the US market for sale - not exhibition - according to the dealer.

The twill has a slightly rougher texture but more formal looking than suede. That is just my opinion. I will try and get some close up pictures to give you a better idea.

Yeah, that was basically my reaction. Especially since the actual retail price is $317,500. I mean, the actual retail price is still spit-worthy but that mark-up to $375,000 was even more so.
