My understanding is that most luxury fashion brands place the suggested retail price of their goods about 10x the production cost, on average. Might be different for luxury men's wear/shoes though...

Hi all,

Thanks to this thread, I now own my first pair of EG - Chelsea on Dark Oak - Last 202 - and that was the last one for my size in that colour - how lucky was that!

The staff spent nearly an hour with me to help me finding the best fit - 1st class service

I came after office hour and there was no queue. However, stock is running down quickly.

Happy day!

(And I just thought about EG and read this thread last night :D)

What is all this talk about production cost... how about shoes? God I wish I was able to attend pop-up sales like that!

I have an idea! Lansing, Michigan should host a pop-up sale! All the influx of shoppers will lead to increase hotel and restaurant sales! Michigan needs it!

Where have I ended up after living down the street from Saks in NYC...

Production cost is probably no more than 50% of the retail price published in EG catalog.

It's far far less.

I am not familiar with productions costs and factory profits, really difficult to know
but I know well retailers markup and wholesale price in general, being some friends owners of clothing stores.

However a leaked EG wholesale price list, was on the web years ago during a strange idea of a GMTO for private customer at Wholesale price, maybe someone can find it if curious.

Really, we shouldn't complain since how many EG do we have between the 2 of us? Gluttony I say!

what else would we do with our money? contribute more to 401k? over my dying, retired and homeless body!

thats right. gonna bring back homeless chic likes its 1999. some of the homeless people i see today are just despicable. i dont care that youre in a life-threatening struggle to attain food and shelter. youre out in public! put on something presentable. and get a crease in those slacks! i dont care if they havent been washed in 4 weeks

you are describing half the hipsters I see one daily basis. my buddy likes to play homeless or hipster. the fact they are tap into earbuds makes it seem like they are walking down the street talking to themselves like a crazy person
