Do people buy tailoring on eBay these days?

Just getting into it. Got some stuff I like a lot, more on the way. OP, are you a size US 36 / EU 46? ;)

Never heard of grailed, will have to check it out.

FWIW, the "low end" stuff seems to sell for probably around 10-20% of its value. S&M, Hugo Boss, etc. Some stuff, when put in front of a decent audience, will go for as much as 35% of new, it seems. EG, a size 36 jacket / 32 pants from suitsupply, sold by luxeswap, reached over $200, and I am pretty sure it's $600 new. Really just depends on what fits a lot of people, gets a lot of eyeballs, and is "low risk." (I assume almost everyone has tried on a suitsupply jacket and knows if it fits, whereas something from a more boutique maker, or bespoke, is really a risk and you go based on measurements and hope that it fits your shoulders and arms properly.)

Nice, good for you 🙂.

Unfortunately I am an EU 50.

And interesting to hear about how much things sell for. I have been surprised myself how high Suitsupply goes on eBay, but maybe you are right. It is simply that we have all tried it on, we know how it fits, and it’s more of a safe bet.

My stuff is from Boss, and similar level Swedish brands, up to Boglioli, Incotex, PT01. I’d be happy to get 10% of retail price. It is pre-worn clothes after all.

I have to get going now taking measurements and photos.

Thank you everyone for your advice.

Please, feel free to share your country because from my my point of view it matters a lot.
I'm based in Czech Republic and it's a pain. It's not that people are poor here but they have very low interest in what they buy plus the market is really small here. Its good if you buy but pain to let something go. I'm waiting for Edward Green Dover for 25 euro in my size at the moment.
It's better selling abroad for me. Most of the menswear buyers on Ebay are still from UK which sucks after Brexit. I feel that in Germany the situation bad as in Czech Republic but they have more money to buy clothes that sucks. Vinted in Germany is quite dead from what I see. France has people with high interest and better tasted. Shared Vinted between France, Italy, Spain, Belgia, Netherlands is alive with good deal even with higher prices. I feel that Sellpy is good website to both sell and buy clohes and it's mainly for northern countries. Grailed is good for niche brands.

Okay, interesting. I live in Bulgaria, and no one local will buy for sure. So international shipping will be added to the price unfortunately. I realise that shipping to the EU will be easier, but is it difficult to sell/ship to UK? What about US?

I don't know anything about shipping prices in Bulgaria. Check prices for tracked and insured shipping to US and UK (for me is US 15e and UK 23e). You listing price + shipping price + taxes should be comparable with price of local listing in UK or US. That's why I would never sell to US or UK something listed below ~80e.
If you plan to sell local brands like Boss, Boggi... you'll end up unnoticed from buyers in US or UK based on brands either because you are from eastern Europe.

I think shipping for a suit will be around 20€. Not much difference EU/UK/US. 10€ for lighter items. Let’s see if someone will be interested in buying. No harm in at least trying.

It really helps if you have positive reviews.

I have some positive reviews, but that was as a buyer.
