thanks in advance, I'm tired of having to cuff shorts to try to have them not look like bell bottom flares

Or... you could just wear grown man pants. Sorry. I just hate the shorts trend.

I have large thighs for my waist size, the issue is not that, it's that once the short gets to knee/above the knee, it is not tapered or slim, and it flares out like some bell bottom bullshit.

the only pair of shorts I have found that are well designed are bson stretch jean cut shorts from last season, and I wish they came in all colors and I wish I had bought them. only have 1 pair in black.

I wear long pants in Hong Kong summers. And Madrid summers. DC is not that bad, in comparison. Buy some chinos. There are non-jean options if you are too much of a *****. And pair lightweight with loose.

I have lightweight loose chinos, it is not the same. maybe its because of my swarthy english heritage, but the weather here is absolutely ******* unbearable.

bear in mind I walk most places.

seriously is designing a proper short this hard??? like come the **** on, there are a billion variations on slim pants from literally every ******* designer, but nobody can make a proper tapered short?

having to spend an additional $15 - $25 on every pair of shorts I buy is ******* bullshit, especially when I'm buying designer stuff. if a short retails for $200+ I shouldn't have to redesign the thing myself

i bought shorts that were slim and tapered and weren't super long or ghetto looking... great fit and style actually...

great stuff in hk and taipei, and nothing but loose fitting bermuda fat american shorts found here...

unless u buy shorts for 200+, which is something i'm not f-ing doing. shorts are cheap things.

Woah! Woah! Woah! C'mon now.

And yes, take the shorts to a tailor. Lightweight chinos are just as good as shorts imo. Don't wear them too slim though or they will still stick to your legs

I have tried on many $200+ shorts, and own a few pairs (admittedly purchased at much lower pricing) and they are not immune to this issue at all. its frustrating that shorts are considered the bastard fashion cousin or something - there is no progression or innovation or alteration of fit. every season its bland, ugly, loose fitting crap paired with constantly escalating designer pricing. last season rag & bone shorts were $175, this season they are almost $300. was the fit streamlined or changed? nope. here's another point: stop using welt pockets on everything. welt pockets rarely, if ever, sit flat, and they break up the line of the outfit when they flare out. use j-cut pockets.

i had obedient sons wool shorts that did not have this problem. so so so tight that when i sat down my thigh would stretch them.

also i have a pair of abcm2 shorts from yoox (like $24 bucks on final clearance) that my legs do not stretch when i sit down, but fill them up completely.

i think your best bet to get slim fitting shorts is yoox-- a lot of the italian brands are quite slim, of course you need to get ones that are a few inches above the knee

I am fairly tall so most of the 'short shorts' are obscenely short on me

I enjoy 9"-10" inseam, which hits above the knee
