Thank you. I have never really been much of a writer but people seem to like what I have been doing with the blog so far.

If you don't mind me asking, why use a zipper instead of buttons?

I expect it depends what the customer asked for.

And button flies are a pain **********.

Customer preference? I prefer zipper over button personally.

The client wanted a zip fly. I actually prefer them personally to buttons but either way I dont think it's a big deal. The zip we use though is a high quality steel zip which is made in Japan. Since we do a trouser baste we can even at this stage quite easily change the zip to a button fly if the client changes his mind.

is it impolite to ask for a general estimate of how much you charge (VERY inexperienced here...)? need to figure out how long i need to save my pennies to get to that gorgeous three-piece light grey suit you have on the blog...

That particular suit was made from Dormeuil Amadeus and ran for $2750

This was a "custom suit" not a "6000 stitches suit". The custom is made in a union shop in new york. It includes a raw try on or baste fitting, hand stitched button holes and floating canvas. Unusually we also make and store individual patterns for custom so it could be said that this is a "bespoke suit". Certainly there's companies doing much less than this and using the term.

A two piece custom suit starts at $2000

A two piece 6000 stitches suit starts at $5500
