Custom Lenses for Ray Ban?

Hi guys,

I’m new to the forum, and would like to ask a question regarding the possibility of having custom lenses fitted to Ray Ban aviator sunglasses.

After watching ‘The Hangover’ movie, I noticed that Bradley Cooper’s character was wearing a pair of (what looked like) Ray Ban aviators, with deep red, none mirrored lenses, which I thought looked really cool.

After a quick search online, I found some info suggesting that they were in fact Ray Ban frames, but with custom lenses fitted.. apparently, Ray Ban had never produced this colour lens.

I was just wondering if this was something that we ‘normal folk’ could get done, and if so.. any suggestions as to where? I’m based in the UK if that helps.

Thanks in advance for any advice..

Hi, thank you for the reply.. I’m not sure whether I explained particularly well what it is I’m actually after.. maybe it sounded as though I was trying to get a pair of Ray Ban aviators made to a prescription?

I don’t actually wear glasses, and so don’t require any magnification from sunglasses. I was just looking for a pair of the aviators made with an unusual coloured lens.. a colour not offered as standard by Ray Ban.

After looking again.. I’m wondering whether they were in fact Ray Ban, or maybe some other brand.. I’ve checked them against a pair of my own, and I’m not sure if the lines are slightly different

Anyway, thank you for the reply.. very much appreciated

I think the same answer applies but yeah I thought you meant prescription lenses. They can just put in lenses with no correction.
