No, it's not a joke. If you make a square, or to give it it's proper name, a reef knot in your shoe laces, they will very seldom if ever loosen on their own.

z - would you say this photograph is a good representation of the in-real-life color? I've found it hard to pinpoint the exact shade.
How do you like the fabric? Any reservations?
Pretty sure the pink shirt takes it out of the realm of conservative business dress, but, since the rest of the fit (perhaps with the exception of the tie) is in line with my understanding of conservative business dress, I thought I post for feedback:
I don't care about the knots - I just want to know whether those shoes are Mink Suede
Manton, what is your opinion about a 4x2 suit for conservative business dress? I like oldogs 6x1's, but the 4x2's look a bit leaner; is there a question of formality?

It really isn't hot pink IRL, I upped the saturation a bit in an attempt to correct some of the iPhone's shortfalls. The second pic is more in line with the shirt's true coloring. The tie is definitely flashy, however.
Improper knot.
I only know how to tie one shoe knot, and now I find out it's all wrong. My world's upside down.
