That's less bad. I probably don't need to keep posting about why I wouldn't buy them, but I'd rather buy boots from a company that specializes in making boots and sneakers from a company that specializes in making sneakers.

I hear ya. We could keep going back and forth; I understand your point about quality and agree with you but i'm into the look of them and will cop if they are priced in the 500 range. I totally agree that they aren't worth 700+ but doubt they will be priced there. If they are, I will wait for them to hit sale like most CP's do. I held out for the officer boots last year and got them for 350 which was a good deal for what they are.

Makes sense. It all comes down to what you like best, really. They all look fine, and even if the bang-to-buck ratio on CP's boots doesn't match some other companies, it's not like they're going to spontaneously combust if you walk faster than 3.5 mph or suddenly disintegrate the first time you get them wet.

Got a pair of the white low tops. Had a hard time deciding between the lows and the hi's. Depending on how they fit, I may return them for the classics.

I forget what it was now, but something on Gilt today was being modeled with all white (non-vintage) bball highs, so keep your eyes peeled if you're a vintage hater

^it was a pair of y's cotton/linen trousers...those have been recycling for at least 6 months now so i doubt we'll be seeing the bballs or any cp's on gilt. :(
If they do appear tho, it's gonna be an instakop :D

Anyone who bought washed Achillies in their typical size-- did they stretch out to fit like unwashed achillies?

if you look at them side by side, the premiums are noticeably clunkier in shape. that on its own was enough to sell me on the classics, which are already a bit bulky from certain angles.

So I've found a pair of CP's that fit me, the tournament lows. I want to know more about the quality of the sneaker. How is it made? The sales clerk told me that there's a steel shank in the shoe, and that the sneakers are made like dress shoes. Can anyone send me a link that explains the superior construction of these shoes? Thanks.
