What is your opinion?

Found a pair on ebay for $165 new. I tried on the CH Lucarno's and was a 9.5. The Durams are a 9, so it might be a moot point.

What is your opinion on CH in general? They dont seem to be favored highly around here, although I did read a post saying that the Durams were the one of the last things they do well. What is the issue? Is it quality?

Quality, style, the Nike airsole gimmick, the fact that they farm out their manufacturing to India while charging top dollar for their products, you name it.

If that's all you want to pay, just get the CT chelsea boot. w/ one of the ubiquitous 50% off codes, it'll come out to less than the Cole Haan and will be better (still a good ways from great though)

Quality varies widely for CH products. Some have those cheap Nike air soles and crap leather, some are benchmade in England and have calf leather and goodyear welted leather soles. Really depends on the model.

I wish CT 50% codes were just as ubiquitous as they once were. Haven't seen one for a little while.....

Ditto. I saw Benchmade in england shoes at CH store recently. They were superb. Very good mix between British and Italian style. Looked as good as C&J handgrade or EG

I picked up the Chelseas from CT yesterday.

Quick question regarding fit:

- I tried a 7.5 UK - very snug in the toes- a bit crampt and uncomfortable

- i tried a 8 UK - much better but my heal comes up a bit when walking

I went with the 8s. They feel fine but I am concerned that they might get too loose as they break in.

In general, how should Chelseas fit? On the tight side or on the loose side? Should I have went with the tighter fit and break them in? When I was at the RM Williams store, they said that some looseness in the heal was the proper fit.
