I'm a big fan of Chopard generally. This one is quite attractive for a "sports" watch; not a lot of ridiculous functions or bulk for the sake of bulk.

Don't know enough about the technical aspects of watches to know whether the movement on this one is 0.0000001 milli-whatevers worse than another brand; are you a scientist?

Don't know enough about the watch market to know about "resale value"; are you interested in the watch because you want to wear it or because you want to make money on it?

Notwithstanding the aesthetic qualities of the watch, I would say that it is actually a very good example of "bulk for the sake of bulk". 44mm diameter case, 14+mm thick for no added function and to house a 36.6mm ETA A07.111 movement, is form over function and bulk for the sake of design, if you'd like.

I kinda like the watch but (a) I perfer the chrono version of it which is a nicer design IMO and a function that is also very relevant to the theme of GT car racing, and (b) it is wildly overpriced at MSRP (but can be found at generous discount from what I understand)

When I worked at Saks I could have got it brand new for 55% off and I passed...if that says anything.
