Charcoal suit, little lost of color matching

A month or so ago I bought a charcoal suit, I'm looking at getting a few things to go with it. Right nowI have a white dress shirt but was looking at getting a different color. I was wondering if light blue or true blue with a white collar would work. From what I have read so far light blue would work not sure about the true blue one. Also what color tie would go with the shirt and the suit. I'll be getting a pair of black cap toe shoes, I already have a pair of cognac wingtips. Also the outfit would be for say a night out with the wife, nothing formal.

Don't do true blue.

For ties, pretty much any colour. A solid navy grenadine tie should be your first choice.

Will look in to that color tie. Was thinking about either a red or cobalt paisley tie.

Was also wondering about what color shirts go with a black pinstripe suit. Should I stick with a plain white shirt and solid color tie or can I add a splash of color. Also need something to go with the true blue shirt as I showed the wife the shirt and she loved it.
