You may be correct in my case.

If they were fake then that is even worse.

My LV briefcase was about $2,400 and it isn't as large as some of these girl's bags.

On a more serious note, however, the only thing that would probably give you away is the RP speech.

It tends to be a tad anachronistic, especially in the States.

Same here, replaced most of my wardrobe, watches, shoes ... somebody should check if SF is sending some kind of encripted subliminal message ...

The desire to match is a damning desire, for all sorts of things not just for clothes and accessories. If you look at black guys, even the dandy ones, they don't give a flying hoove if it's pinstripe trousers with Campbell clan jacket and purple socks. Conventions, esp. English ones, are so dam boring as it's dictated by a group of people resistant to change, which is the reason they're still around, because the wind of change blew through Oct. 1917.

Yes, and most of the people who dress like this also look like absolute idiots. Just because you put a bunch of unmatched things together does not mean they actually work well as an ensemble.

The same could be said of some Italian dudes as well -- or for that matter, anywhere -- just look for the ones that are dressed like morons.

I can attest to this research. I hadn't logged into SF for a few months and started to think "well, I just don't care about clothes anymore - so much for that phase" until one day I got a $100 off certificate for a local store in the mail. It started with a pair of pants and led to a $3500 month long clothing bender

The problem is not splurging on a luxurious item here and there, as in, you see something in a store that is nice but more than you planned to spend, but you buy it anyway. The problem is the quick and easy access to expert resources and research for virtually anything you are thinking about acquiring. A mild case of OCD coupled with financial resources and internet access is a veritable disaster. Most of us probably stumbled upon SF looking for information on some mundane item of clothing. Fifteen minutes later you decide those items are total shite, and two years later you have a $XXk wardrobe. WTF?!

The only solution is to be an ignorant consumer. I haven't bought a TV is about 4-5 years. I suspect the technology and picture quality is light years ahead of the stuff we have in our house, but I wouldn't know because I refuse to look into it.

+1

Couldn't have said it better myself.
