I see Jeffrey Yong has a guitar building course very similar to the one I did at Carson Crickmore. Nice looking guitars.

I would recommend you (and Gerry), if you've got a spare minute or so this weekend, listen to the clips recorded of some of his guitars at Dream Guitars.

Got a new casual sports coat in the mail today. Unstructured, unlined in beige cotton, a Corneliani. In my parcel opening frenzy, I unknowingly paper cut my finger. Tried it on, was fixing the lapels and looked down to see red stains on the jacket. So pissed off. Straight to the dry cleaners. I pray they will work magic. Anyone experienced with blood stains and dry cleaners? There isn't a whole heap luckily. Didn't even get to try it on properly.

Not so sure about shorts - can you pick up some cheap cotton chino pants to wear instead?

Basically (whilst it's a bit of a generalisation), typically only children wear shorts in Indonesia and Malaysia. When you grow up you wear trousers (or a sarong, depending on where you are).

One shopping suggestion is a chain of stores called "British India". I don't know what they're like now, but when I was there years ago, they sold cheap but nice-looking basics, some of them with a bit of a Malaysian twist - rather like a Malay version of Land's End. I picked up a couple of really great plaid madras shirts.

Their slogan was something like, "British India - a time of racism, oppression and really good outfits".

If it was unstructured and unlined, perhaps you could even have washed it yourself. A soak in cold water usually brings blood stains right out.

I second that. They have those in Philippines too. They have some cool basics, though I never bought anything, or even tried it on, just had a browse.

Yeah true, I though ah well, I'll just play it safe and take it to the dry cleaners. Good things is, for the 5 seconds I had it on, it seemed to fit great, perhaps a tiny tiny bit short, but I don't mind that when it's for a more casual outfit.

British India is now pretty highly priced compared to somewhere like Uniqlo and not worth it in my opinion.

The thrill of a new purchase made me impervious to pain. Ironically, my greatest power led to may sartorial downfall.

Well, hopefully on monday it's as good as new again. I'd literally taken the tags off of it seconds ago (they are the ones you can put back on with a loop of the thread).

This is the source pics (don't have fit pics yet obviously). It's actually a hemp/cotton blend, which is really nice.
