Almost bought some today. How good is it? I really like ales and stouts if that helps.

It's a very good beer, just like everything from the Stone Brewery. Lots of hoppy flavor, very robust, with a lingering bitter finish. An all around great beer to enjoy. One of my favorites, and certainly one of the best out there. If you like stouts, you'll love their Russian Imperial Stout (released every spring), and if you're also a porter fan, their Smoked Porter is good too, and every bit as complex as their Russian Imperial Stout. If you like Pale Ales, their Pale Ale is a good choice, but their IPA and Ruination IPA are also VERY good. In short, everything that comes out of the Stone Brewery is an amazing beer.

This is not as descriptive as you might think...

That being said, my recollection of Arrogant Bastard is that it's a BIG beer. Prodigiously malty on the front end with a resinous mouthfeel and a lingering bitter-hop finish. It's not what I would call a session beer, but I'd give it a try just to expand your beer pallet if nothing else.

It's a very good beer, especially as a (heavy, heady) catapult into some drunken dumbassery to be sustained by other, easier drinking beers.

I wouldn't want to be responsible for drinking an AB on a particularly sticky summer afternoon though.

If any of their beers are refreshing on hot days, it's their IPA/Ruination IPA. It's still a very big beer, but at the same time it's very refreshing.

One more for the Bastard... it's a great beer. Most of the Stone beers are.

Almost everything from Stone is going to be great. I liked the cameo they made on Top Chef last night.

This is an aggressive beer. you probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to a safer and more familiar territory — maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beer will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make a beer taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

I've had it. Other than the name, there was nothing else worth remembering.
