Advice on Summer Suit Fabrics

Hello everyone, this is my first post and was hoping to get the group's advice on fabric selections for a couple of summer suits I have in mind. I'm hoping to source the fabrics myself (ideally), or at least direct my tailor to the right mills for the specifics suits I have in mind (below). I know my tailor can work with me to suggest a range of options, but currently I am really honed-in on the following looks / photos...

First: thinking of a DB navy seersucker number, similar to the photo attached. Anyone have ideas which mill might have produced this specific fabric? If not, any suggestions on where I can source a quality navy seersucker?

Second: really want an olive green cotton suit, inspired by the second photo attached. Similarly, any ideas which mill(s) may offer such a fabric?

Loro Piana makes a navy seersucker in wool and silk. It's an ideal summer cloth, especially for travel. I do not care for cotton as a suit material, so I can't help you there.

Brisbane Moss would be a good place to start for the cotton suit.

One consideration when choosing a DB summer suit/jacket is that it will wear considerably warmer than a SB due to the extra layers of materials covering your midsection when properly buttoned…..as a DB should always be.

OP, how warm and/or humid does it get in the summer where you live? And have you actually worn a cotton suit in the summer? Cotton suiting is usually pretty tightly woven, so it breathes poorly, and it absorbs water easily. I find hot humid weather to be very challenging for cotton.

@Andy57 is referring to this specific LP fabric. Am in the process of having this made up for a summer suit myself.

I'm having a olive green cotton suit made currently and I went with W. Bill. I think it's around 13oz? I could ask which cloth specifically if you're interested. It felt great when I tried it on, very sturdy and I think it'll break in nicely, although I'm betting it's not going to feel super breathable on hot days.

linen and seersucker are the ones for summer. The IG account “Dylanandson” constantly posts summer fabrics available in the market.

If it’s really hot humid summer I’ll definitely avoid cotton, though above 90s I kind just don’t care for suit I suppose…

Haspel has the largest selection I've seen of seersucker. I have the usual white with light blue, darker blue, black, gray and red stripes in three piece suits and the solid dark navy seersucker. Almost a uniform for me in Texas and Florida.

You can source both of these from Huddersfield- their seersucker and Quest cotton are perfectly serviceable and reasonably priced.

Looks like it's this one, although it appears darker on the site than in person.

This specific fabric is from Carnet - Seersucker and Linen. Or at least it's the same photo being used
