I mean...it's weird as **** but I can see how it would be fun with a bunch of friends who share similar interests. To each his own really.

Also, you realize that you are posting on an internet forum dedicated to mens clothing where a large portion of the posts are either posting or critiquing other men's outfits....someday some LARPer is going to stumble upon this when looking for a typoed suit of chain mail (male suit...

) and tell their friends how ******* weird we all are.

I used to work with a guy that did Darkon. He claimed it was like LARPing, but way cooler (

). Whenever work was slow, I'd ask him about his latest adventures. Honestly, he was the best source of entertainment for a while. I guess they would hold conventions out in Ohio and spend a week or two completely submerged in this fantasy world. It's really sad when you think about it, but at least they're actually interacting with real people. I think a documentary was made on this subject...

Wait, here is the movie's website. It should have a video on its main page.

I'm going to be 100% honest here. I used to LARP. Way back in the day. hung out with some SCA people in Albuquerque and some Masquerade people here in Seattle. It was something to do, the chicks who were hot (and there were remarkably quite a few) were really hot in their little outfits, and I had nothing else going on. It was sort of like theater, I guess, which I was involved in at the time. Of course, a few of the people I met up here who were into Masquerade, also happened to be the people I know who decided to murder people. Maybe there's a connection. For the record, never threw pinecones and or attacked each other with physical representations of fake spells.

I used to play D & D (comes with being seriously into MTG). However I remain a LARP virgin. It seems like it might be fun and its got to be funny.

I believe so. There are many kinds of "role playing" out there. But hey, I'm not the GM or anything.

We used a Rock/Paper/Scissors method of spell casting.

Larping sounds like something the cuckold is forced to do.

That's too obvious, it needs a more "in" term. Larping fits the bill.
