Oh no worries. I just think it's pretty fascinating that a lyricist list or MC list gets a lot of debate. So many nuances get thrown in from age, gender, culture & where you're from. I just think it's pretty cool to see.

I also think it's weird how groups have fell off lately. It's all about the solo artist now a days.

personally I always enjoyed Busta Rhymes on his "the coming album" particularly the first couple songs, but I wouldn't put him down as a great lyricist, he just had a good delivery.

No, no, no, no. Biggie was all about flow and finesse and less about substance. Tupac just wanted to get his point across.

I think Pac could be considered one of the best MC's but not the best lyricists he was always pretty direct.

Then again he has lines like these.

I ain't a killer but don't push me
Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to getting *****
Picture paragraphs unloaded, wise words being quoted
Peeped the weakness in the rap game and sewed it
Bow down, pray to God hoping that he's listening
Seeing niggas coming for me, to my diamonds, when they glistening

friend on Talib: "If you're smart enough to attend NYU, you should be smart enough to know you suck."

I'm going Nas. It's a tragedy the man has such dire taste in production - couldn't we just lock him a room with Preemo for six months and see if both get back on track?

Ooooo, I kind of forgot about Bussabus! I always liked his cameo in the Craig Mac, "Flava In Ya Ear" Remix!

When I get down
I disappear
Re-appear
And blow up everywhere
with freakin new flava in ya ear

I think I hold Rakim the highest due to him just being so far ahead of the game at the time he & Eric broke out. When I heard....

"I get 7 MC's, put'em in a line
then take 7 more brutha's who think they can rhyme
well it'll take 7 more before I go for mine
now that's 21 MC's ate up at the same time!"

I just fell out when I heard that!

KRS One was at his best when he was battling Shan, the "new" KRS One is pretty sad.

I am always surprised how Method Man gets no love in these best lyricist lists. Do people think he does not have the skills or does he get overshadowed by Wu Tang?

Also, nothing to do with this list, but anyone know what happened to Cassidy?
